The forecast called for rain all day. The rain broke just in time for our Swords Park family session. It left everything feeling fresh and made the colors of the sandstone rock formations pop. Still cloudy when we started, but the smiles from this family lit up the photos anyway. Just when everyone was warming up, it was as if the heavens opened! The sun made its debut for the day and we were able to add some extra glow to this family on what seemed to be a dreary day.
I’m so excited to share this family session I captured shortly after Thanksgiving at Swords Park in Billings. Elysia and Ethan are an easy going, outdoorsy couple so they were up for a little hike up the hill where we could include these amazing rock formations in the background. I loved how their teenage kids enjoyed exploring on the rocks when they weren’t needed for pictures! With two of their daughters living out of state it was a real treat to capture some long overdue pictures of everyone together. I had so much fun seeing each person’s personality come out as the session continued.
Elysia and Ethan, it was wonderful to meet all of your children and get to know you better. Thank you for enduring the crisp Montana winter air and being willing to hike a little to get some amazing backdrops for your photos. I hope this next year brings many blessings to your family. Elysia and Ethan, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family!
