The sun was setting over the cottonwood trees for our Laurel maternity session, creating a dreamy light that was encircling my already glowing friend Bethany. Her hair was framing her face perfectly and the details of her dress were catching the light beautifully. That’s when I heard them. The sound started almost in my ear and I could see Bethany tense. She held her composure as my camera made a few more clicks. She was practically holding her breath as she asked if we could take a break. My camera came down from my eye. She franticly waved her hand around her body swatting off as many mosquitos as possible. Lesson learned. Bug spray is now a staple in my camera bag.
Bethany has been one of my good friends since we moved to Montana and I have the privilege of raising my children alongside hers. Whenever I have a parenting question or need a recommendation on anything parenting related, she is my go to gal! The best part is after she shares her advice, she asks how I’m doing, or how my week is. She always takes the time to invest in our friendship even though she has four littles, one on the way, and a million different activities going on! She is an inspiration to me, serving your family with a joyful spirit and loving your kids well.
Bethany, you are truly a blessing to have as a friend and a beautiful person inside and out! You are a gently mama who pours her whole soul into her children. I can see how much your children love you as I watch them interact with you, and I know Ellie will be no different. To put it simply, you clearly display Proverbs 31:28 in your everyday walk, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” Bethany, thank you so much for being my friend, enduring the mosquitoes, and choosing me to photograph your maternity session!
