I hiked back up the hill in Absarokee to the road where the light was brighter. The sun was fighting to break out from behind the clouds, but losing the battle. I heard the gently breeze tickling the golden grass of summer. Then I saw them. As beautiful and more in love than their wedding day. As I handed her the bouquet, a smile crossed her face. The two of them, hand in hand, reliving the memories. The way they looked at each other, with a glow of their own, it was clear to see their love has grown tremendously over the last ten years.
It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since I was standing by Jer’s side as he and Melodee said their vows to each other. With that in mind you can imagine my excitement when they asked me if I would include some anniversary pictures of them in their wedding attire as part of their family session! It’s amazing to see the life they’ve created together over the last ten years. I had a blast capturing all the facial expressions of my nieces and nephew and of course capturing the joy they have as a family unit. I loved how easy it was make Jer laugh and get those pure emotions captured.
Melodee and Jer, I love that we can grow and learn together with our marriages and parenting. I’m so thankful that we get to raise our families together and our kids are such good friends. You are both some of the smartest people I know, and I just hope some of it rubs off on me when I’m around you! Melodee and Jer, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family and your milestone anniversary!
